G.C.S. Social Distance Running Series Part II Week 5
Monday, June 29, 2020
The concept. Join the Gate City Striders in a virtual charity run! Even with the spring race season shutting down due to COVID-19, we can still get out and enjoy our sport at a responsible distance. Put that winter training to good use to support a great cause. Participants can run on a treadmill, on the track, or by using a GPS.
The beneficiary. The United Way COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund for Greater Nashua. This fund was created to provide financial support to local nonprofits for their extra-ordinary and unprecedented expenses related to Covid-19. Our social services nonprofits, which make up the core of our Community Safety Net, provide for many basic needs, including food, clothing, and shelter. We hope to help with their efforts.
The race distances. Each participant can choose to run either a 5K or a 5miler.
Reporting your results. Each participant will be sent a Google form to fill out their race distance and finish time. Please fill out your results before the next weeks race period starts. Results will be listed by gender only - no age groups. Results will be posted on iResultsLive.com
Prizes: At the end of each week a name will be pulled out of a hat to win a $25 gift card to a local business.
