Waltham Land Trust Western Greenway 5k - The Race for Open Space
Sunday, October 31, 2021

Help the Waltham Land Trust preserve community greenspace while staying fit and enjoying the Western Greenway. The race starts on Sunday, October 31st, 2021 at 1:00pm!

This 5K (3.1 mile) trail run goes through and around a variety of habitats in Beaver Brook North Reservation and Rock Meadow, including cattail marshes, forests, vernal pools, and open meadows.

This is a gun timed race (no chips), prizes are awarded to fastest in many categories, food and drinks are provided, and we have extra prizes for lucky bib numbers so everyone who registers has a chance of winning a prize! Proceeds from the entrance fee helps the Waltham Land Trust keep protecting open space in Waltham.

Parking available on site.

Online registration closes at 10pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021. There is an additional $5 fee to register at bib pickup or the morning of the race.

Registration Fee(s):

$25.00 (Land Trust members)

$30.00 (general public)

$15.00 (youth – 12 and under)

Volunteers - free

PLEASE NOTE: As of 8/24/21 the City has given us the go ahead to have this race in person, but we'll follow whatever public health guidance is in place come October. Because the Land Trust expends costs relying on this race as a fundraiser, all registration fees are non-refundable. Bib swaps are permitted but you must notify the raceday staff no later than 48 hours prior to the race start.

2021 Course Map
2021 course map updated as of 6/16/2021. Please note there has been a change to the race route from prior years to eliminate the small bridge. This change was in response to participants indicating that the bridge was often slippery difficult to navigate.
