CREATE YOUR MERCHANDISE
For any event, you can create merchandise items that can be sold during the registration process. A common item is a t-shirt, but you can also sell hats, raffle tickets, food items, etc. All of this information is associated with a specific registration and is included in any download.
USE LISTS TO CREATE OPTIONS
Use predefined lists to define merchandise items. For example, you may want to create a list of adult and child shirt sizes. When creating new merchandise items, you can import from a list rather than having to recreate all the options for every race.
For any merchandise option, you can define the number of items on hand. For example, you might say that you have 100 large shirts, 85 mediums and 15 smalls. As people purchase the different shirt sizes, the quantity on-hand is decremented. Once the quanity on hand drops to zero, that option is no longer available. Specifying merchandise stock is an optional behavior. The default is not to enforce stock.
ATTACH TO CATEGORIES
Merchandise can be attached to one or more categories (categories are different races within an event. e.g. 5k, 10k, kids run, etc). That means that you can offer some merchandise to a 5K, and completely different merchandise to a 1/2 marathon. You can also offer the same merchandise to everyone in every category.
UPLOAD MERCHANDISE IMAGE
You can upload an image that shows the merchandise. This image will be displayed when someone is registering. Having an image of the merchandise can enhance your sales of the merchandise item.
PRICING - DEFAULT
You can define a default price for the merchandise. The default price is used when no other conditions exist that can alter this price (see the next sections for how the price can be altered)
PRICING - FREE UNTIL
You can optionally choose to give away the items for FREE until the registrations reach a certain number. For example, you can say that shirts are free for the first 500 people. Before 500 people are registered, the price will be zero. Once 500 people have registered, the price jumps up to the default price.
HIDING MERCHANDISE - BEFORE/AFTER
You can optionally choose to hide the merchandise based on the number of registrations. You choose to hide the item until registrations reach a certain level, or hide before they reach a certain level. This feature makes it easy to offer different merchandise items depending on the how many people have registered. For example, you want to give away hats for the first 100 people. Then, after 100 people have registered, the hats are no longer offered, but shirts are available between 101 and 400. After 400 people have registered, gloves can be available. It's up to you to configure your merchandise to your best advantage.
You can choose to make merchandise gender specific so that items defined as "female" will only be presented to females registering, and items defined as "male" will only be presented to males registering. By default, all items are gender-neutral meaning they will be presented to both males and females.
SELL MERCHANDISE OUTSIDE OF REGISTRATION
You can select the option to allow merchandise to be purchased without having to register. This allows you to leverage more sales to friends and family without the purchaser committing to run your event.
